How to reach us

The fastest way, and the one we prefer. If the fireplace is smoking into the room right now, ring rather than write.

Find us

Geneva sits on the Fox River in the middle of our service area, which is why we can usually get to St. Charles, Batavia or North Aurora quickly.

What to tell us when you call

You do not need to diagnose anything before you ring — that is our job. But three pieces of information let us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of the second.

When it was last swept. “Never as far as I know” is a perfectly useful answer, and a common one on houses that have changed hands.

What burns in it. Wood, gas logs, a wood insert, a pellet stove, or nothing at all for the last decade. Each one is a different service with different tools.

What you have noticed. A smell in warm weather, smoke rolling into the room, a brown stain on the ceiling, scratching or fluttering sounds in the flue, or white chalky streaks on the outside brick. Each of those points somewhere specific.

If you are calling about smoke in the house right now, or you think you have had a chimney fire, say that first. Those calls skip the queue.

Questions about us

What are your hours?

Seven days a week, 7am to 8pm. That includes weekends, which is when a lot of people first notice the fireplace is not drawing properly.

Where are you based?

602 Commons Dr, Geneva, IL 60134. We are a working crew rather than a showroom, so call before coming by — there is a good chance all three of us are on a roof somewhere in Kane County.

Is it better to call or send a message?

Call. We answer the phone seven days a week and you will get a straight answer about timing in about a minute. Messages get returned, but the phone is faster.

Can you come out today?

Often, yes, especially if you are in Geneva, St. Charles or Batavia. Smoke coming into the house, a chimney fire, or a suspected carbon monoxide problem goes to the front of the queue — say so when you call.

What should I have ready when I call?

Roughly when the chimney was last swept, what you burn (wood, gas, or nothing for years), and what you have noticed — smell, smoke, stains, noises. That is enough for us to know what to bring.

Do you serve my town?

We cover fifteen towns around Geneva across Kane County and western DuPage. The full list is on the service areas page. If you are just outside it, call and ask rather than assuming.

Do you work on gas fireplaces as well as wood?

Both. Gas units need a different service — burner, pilot, glass gasket and venting rather than creosote removal. That is covered on the gas fireplace page.

How do I know what it will cost?

Standard services have published starting prices on the pricing page. Repairs are quoted after an inspection, because pricing masonry work from a phone description is guesswork and usually wrong.
