What we do

Chimney Sweeping
Creosote out of the flue, smoke chamber and firebox, sealed opening and HEPA vacuum throughout, camera check before we leave.
Chimney Inspection
Level 1 for the annual check, Level 2 with a full camera scan for house sales, appliance changes and after a chimney fire.
Chimney Repair
Tuckpointing, crown rebuilds, firebox work and chimney flashing — the water repairs that Illinois freeze-thaw creates.
Chimney Relining
Stainless liners for cracked clay tile, and correct resizing when an appliance has been changed without adjusting the flue.
Chimney Caps & Crowns
Stainless caps against rain, animals and embers; crown resurfacing and full recasting with a proper overhang and drip edge.
Gas Fireplace Service
Burner, pilot, thermocouple, log placement, glass gasket and venting — the annual service gas units quietly need.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
The full duct run cleaned from machine to exterior hood, plus a check of the duct material and damper.
Air Duct Cleaning
Supply and return cleaning where there is a real reason for it, and an honest answer when there is not.
Where to start if you are not sure
Most people do not call knowing which service they need, and that is fine. The starting point is almost always one of two things.
If you burn wood and it has been a year or more, book a sweep with an inspection. The sweep removes what has built up and the inspection tells you the condition of everything the brush cannot assess — liner, crown, flashing, cap. That combination is the single most useful visit for most households.
If something specific has gone wrong, start with the inspection. A stain on the ceiling, smoke rolling into the room, a smell that will not go, or a noise in the flue all need diagnosis before anyone should be quoting repairs. We look, photograph, explain, then quote.
What we will not do is arrive to sweep a chimney, announce that it needs a new liner, and ask you to decide on the spot. Repairs are quoted separately after you have seen the evidence.

Which service do I need?
If you burn wood and it has been a year, start with a sweep and inspection together. If you have a leak or stain, start with an inspection. If you have just bought the house, a Level 2 inspection tells you what you own. Call and describe what you have noticed — we will tell you which one applies.
Can you do more than one service in the same visit?
Yes, and it usually saves money. Sweeping and dryer vent cleaning in the same visit is the most common pairing, and a cap fitted while we are already on the roof avoids a second trip.
Do you charge a call-out fee on top?
No separate call-out charge on top of the service price. Repairs are quoted after the inspection, and the quoted number is the number.
What if I do not know what is wrong?
That is the normal situation and it is fine. Describe what you have noticed — a smell, smoke, a stain, a noise — and we will work out the rest when we look.
Do you work weekends?
Seven days a week, 7am to 8pm, including weekends. A lot of people first notice a problem on a Saturday evening fire.

Do you handle emergencies?
Smoke entering the house, a suspected chimney fire, or a suspected carbon monoxide problem goes to the front of the queue. Say so when you call. If you suspect carbon monoxide, get everyone out and call the fire service first.
